8:00 a.m: The guide will meet you at the hotel and drive to Cu Chi Tunnels
Cu Chi tunnels are part of a much larger network that stretches out underneath much of the country. The Cu Chi tunnels were the location of several military campaigns during the American War.
The soldiers used the tunnels 250 kilometes as hiding spots during combat, as well as communication and supply routes. They were also the site of hospitals, food and weapon caches, and living quarters for numerous North Vietnamese fighters.
After exploring the tunnels, you’ll have time for some shooting at the range, and then to enjoy tea and cassava, an important food for the guerrillas during the war.
This tour, perfect for history and war buffs, will take you back to wartime where you can explore the famous Cu Chi tunnels, try your hand at shooting accuracy with an AK-47 and even sample food eaten by Vietnamese soldiers during the war.
Along the way to Cu Chi from Ho Chi Minh city, we will pass by the scenic local countryside, where you might even spot ducks and buffalo cooling off in the river. You will find it hard to imagine the destruction and damage that once dominated the area, caused by bombing and mines when Cu Chi was “a free target zone.”
